About this deal

I would suggest that if you like the idea of Richard Ayoade interviewing Richard Ayoade (about half of the book) whilst taking celebrity introspection to absurd new levels, or - for example - you know who Terrence Malick is, and you are attracted to reading a series of highly unlikely tweets he sent whilst making the film 'The Tree of Life', then you should find much to enjoy here. Ayoade has frequently appeared as a panellist on The Big Fat Quiz of the Year, often with Noel Fielding, making his first appearance on The Big Fat Anniversary Quiz in 2007, which marked Channel 4's 25th anniversary.

In 2011, Ayoade directed the Community episode " Critical Film Studies" in the comedy show's second season. Over ten brilliantly insightful and often erotic interviews, Ayoade examines Ayoade fully and without mercy, leading a breathless investigation into this once-in-a-generation visionary. Much as you may love Richard, don't fall into the trap that he can be as interesting in printed form. Sie müssen mit den Produkten, die Sie stornieren möchten, angemessene Sorgfalt walten lassen und dürfen sie nicht verwenden. He can convey the ins and outs of a pretentious dialogue with himself very well – but the joke isn't that great, and however many times he drops trashy films (or A-Ha) into things there is a sense of the cleverness not quite being put to as great a use as it might have been. The clip also features such other comedy luminaries as Noel Fielding, Alice Lowe, Matthew Holness (as horror author/actor Garth Marenghi playing Dr Rick ‘Dag’ Dagless) and Matt Berry, who now also plays Steven Toast (see part 3 of this blog series). It is said to be ‘a golden year for the moving image, with many films so good that their titles require a colon and a dash to convey their many levels’. New and familiar characters abound, voiced by a bright mix of performers, including Kat Dennings, Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Sheen, Kristen Schaal, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright, and so many more, including fan-favorite narrators Simon Vance and Ray Porter. Here’s a few of Ayoade’s actorly highlights from Darkplace (a spoof documentary about a ‘lost classic’ hospital horror show), in which Ayoade plays actor/director Dean Learner acting (badly) as Darkplace Hospital boss Thornton Reed.

Ayoade on Ayoade' seems to have divided readers, and I can understand why, it's clearly not got universal appeal. Ayoade starred in an advertisement for HSBC in 2018, which addressed other countries' cultural impact on the United Kingdom ahead of Brexit; appearing in four more in the following years [72] Ayoade voiced Treebor, a Stone Age caveman, in the Aardman Animations stop-motion comedy Early Man (2018). If the answers to any of those (rhetorical) questions are ‘a little’ or ‘a lot’ then you are in for a treat with Richard Ayoade’s debut novel: Ayoade on Ayoade.

In 2008, Ayoade directed the music videos for two Vampire Weekend singles: " Oxford Comma", filmed in one long take, [8] and " Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa". I would say you must know a lot about films and directors, but I don't and I still enjoyed this book. Waking up 117 years later, Bob discovers his mind has been uploaded into a sentient space probe with the ability to replicate itself. Not your normal kind of autobiography, if you're not already a fan of Ayoade when you pick this up you'll soon be wondering what in the gibbering flip is going on.
