About this deal

There is also Charlotte, who is the first woman since his second wife to make him feel all gooey inside.

The artifacts buried with the skull set him to interpreting the clues they provide and to following in someone's footsteps--maybe more than one someone--after the rest of Gaillard. With the help of an assistant, his daughter and her boyfriend, a girlfriend/psychologist, and a reporter, Enzo travels the width and breadth of France uncovering clues, following false leads and backtracking. We are given to understand that he has recently accepted a bet with the local Préfet’s that he could be able to solve a ten year old cold-case.

We mainly use Royal Mail Tracked 48 Service for goods which weight less then 2kg, all other goods will be delivered by a Courier. At the end of the church, ninety silvered organ pipes rise in shining columns to the figure of Christ Resuscitated, flanked by two angels. Fourteen years later, during a summer heatwave, a drought exposed her remains - bleached bones amid the scorched mud and slime. Forensic expert Enzo Macleod takes a wager to solve the seven most notorious French murders, armed with modern technology and a total disregard for the justice system.

He is elegant and elusive, putting in cameo appearances, knowing the right people to dig them out of difficulties, a man epitomised by his apartment. a rendezvous with the French Minister of Justice, otherwise known as the Garde des Sceaux, literally the Keeper of the Seals…. He met the love of his life, and that lightning-strike moment has a tendency to create a before-and-after in most people’s lives who are fortunate enough to ever meet their soulmate. I read the entire Lewis Trilogy by Peter May and loved it, but I was hesitant to start this series because I had heard it was a completely different style to the Lewis Trilogy. I'd recommend Extraordinary People to any reader who enjoys fast-paced, intriguing mysteries and quest-based adventures - anyone who enjoyed Dan Brown's 2003 phenomenon The Da Vinci Code would be likely to love this, too!The first in the series was an easy five stars, with the second and third book being strong four stars. With Sophie, Bertrand and his bouncy, ingenuous assistant Nicole in tow, Enzo travels what seems like almost the length and breath of France following and solving a clever collection of clues. If you can suspend disbelief for the artificiality of the construct, then there’s a lot to like about the book. But it’s actually a lot more engaging than that probably makes it sound, mainly due to the characters of Enzo himself and his friends and family, particularly his daughter Sophie and her boyfriend, Bertrand. Deep in the catacombs below the City of Light, MacLeod unearths disturbing clues deliberately left behind by a killer.

Peter May is wonderful at setting the scene, yet with this one he is merely flaunting his travelling budget. The fact that she felt no need for subtlety in conveying that she had done her homework on him left Enzo feeling a little uneasy. But as the retired forensics expert draws closer to the truth, he discovers he may just wind up the next victim for his troubles. The action takes the protagonists to several intriguing French locations, including the catacombes of Paris, the Hôtel-Dieu Saint-Jacques in Toulouse, and the champagne caves (cellars) of Épernay. I was surprised to learn that it was published in only 2006, as in some respects it reads more like a book set in the 1980s.

For forensic expert Enzo Macleod, the key to this unsolved murder lies in decoding Petty's mysterious reviews - which could make or break a vineyard's reputation. He hates his daughter's boyfriend (who, in the end, saves the day and turns out to be a stellar guy despite the piercings).
