About this deal

Tracini then proceeded to rap his way through tongue-in-cheek lyrics littered with some truths about his condition.

Been reading this book for a while now - got it shortly after it was published and raced through the first half. I saw his 48 second gymnastics commentary on Twitter and immediately started following him, not knowing anything more about him.

But if his book makes you think: "thank fuck it’s not just me" and that makes you feel a little better, then it’s a job well done.

So I was looking forward to this print 'extended version', if you will, whilst hoping there might be some nuggets of use to someone I love. Tracini was also very open and honest about his mental health during this time too and regularly posted videos about his struggles. He left Hollyoaks in 2014 after a three-year stint, thinking he would go on to something bigger and better. He knows that nobody will turn up to see him; they will be there for Mick, the abusive loudmouth in the BPD T-shirt. View image in fullscreen ‘I would do 10 minutes at the end of my dad’s act when I was seven years old’ .Having somebody put their arm around you and proselytize is something you find all too much in books, but having someone pat your arm and say 'yeah, I get that' with real empathy in their voice is very rare, and this felt like walking in the park with somebody who wasn't judging me. So I bought it for my eReader and before too long I realized that this was not a BS account of someone's issues that I couldn't identify with or didn't give a crap about. He lives in Hackney, east London, but is staying at his mother’s S-shaped bungalow in Rochester, Kent, when we speak on Zoom. The thing that I think I liked most (if that’s that right word to use) is making people see that just because you’ve been fixed once, it’s okay to break against, it’s not a once fixed always fixed kind of illness.

I loved the way Joe manages to balance the serious messages within the book with lots of humour making it a lot easier to read. Originally in the public eye as an actor, comedian and presenter, Joe has gained an enormous following on Twitter in recent years as he uses the platform to open up about his mental health.

Norwich Theatre Royal, Playhouse and Stage Two are part of Norwich Theatre, the operating name of Theatre Royal (Norwich) Trust Limited. He is supremely polite, slightly geeky and wears T-shirts that show off his elaborately tattooed arms (and disguise his self-harm scars).
